Job Description of Nurse Educator

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Facilitator in the induction program & ensure that all nursing staff has undergone induction.
• Assess & identify any learning need of staff in her area & then plan with Nursing Superintendent to organize & execute retraining for them.
• Gives incidental teachings on rounds & demonstrate skills whenever appropriate.
• Conducts code blue drills.
• Keeps a record of in-service attendance of staff & motivate those with less attendance.
• Conducts practical exams for trainees.
• Coordinates with Doctors for in-service classes
• Executes training programs for nurses.
• Planning of the teaching programs including an orientation programs
• Planning of ward / Intensive Care teaching programs with the cooperation and collaboration of Nursing Superintendent.
• Prepare the Monthly Training Calendar.
• Teaching of all nursing subjects with assistance from other members of the staff.
• Conduct of periodical and terminal tests.
• Organization of seminars, panel discussion, debates etc.
• Any other duty that may be assigned to her from time to time relating to nursing education.
• Daily patient round & education to the patients.
• Counterchecking of inventory registers & other quality checklists.
• Helps Nursing Superintendent in day today activities for the smooth functioning of the unit.
• Gives incidental teachings on rounds & demonstrate skills whenever appropriate.
• Conducts BLS training & ensures hands on practice.
• Assess & identify any learning need of staff in her area &then plan with Nursing Superintendent to organize & execute retraining for them.
• Will be responsible for any other duties assigned by the Nursing Superintendent from time to time.
