Job Description of Nurse Educator
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Facilitator in the induction program & ensure that all nursing staff has undergone induction.
- Assess & identify any learning need of staff in her area & then plan with Nursing Superintendent to organize & execute retraining for them.
- Gives incidental teachings on rounds & demonstrate skills whenever appropriate.
- Conducts code blue drills.
- Keeps a record of in-service attendance of staff & motivate those with less attendance.
- Conducts practical exams for trainees.
- Coordinates with Doctors for in-service classes
- Executes training programs for nurses.
- Planning of the teaching programs including an orientation programs
- Planning of ward / Intensive Care teaching programs with the cooperation and collaboration of Nursing Superintendent.
- Prepare the Monthly Training Calendar.
- Teaching of all nursing subjects with assistance from other members of the staff.
- Conduct of periodical and terminal tests.
- Organization of seminars, panel discussion, debates etc.
- Any other duty that may be assigned to her from time to time relating to nursing education.
- Daily patient round & education to the patients.
- Counterchecking of inventory registers & other quality checklists.
- Helps Nursing Superintendent in day today activities for the smooth functioning of the unit.
- Gives incidental teachings on rounds & demonstrate skills whenever appropriate.
- Conducts BLS training & ensures hands on practice.
- Assess & identify any learning need of staff in her area &then plan with Nursing Superintendent to organize & execute retraining for them.
- Will be responsible for any other duties assigned by the Nursing Superintendent from time to time.
