Engagement quality reviewer – US Assurance Team (Ahmedabad)

Role Overview

The primary objective of the EQR is to perform an independent evaluation work performed by the engagement team, which includes the review of significant judgments made by the engagement team and the related conclusions reached in forming the overall conclusion on the engagement and preparing the Auditors report, all in accordance with AS 1220.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Perform independent engagement quality reviews of PCAOB audits as per AS 1220, to assess the work of the engagement team.
  • Evaluate the significant judgments and conclusions made by the engagement team before issuance of the audit report.
  • Review key audit areas including planning, risk assessment, materiality, significant accounting estimates, internal control evaluation, and going concern considerations.
  • Ensure that sufficient and appropriate audit evidence supports the conclusions and report.
  • Discuss significant matters, findings, and potential differences in professional judgment with the Engagement leader and engagement team.
  • Assess the quality and completeness of audit documentation to ensure compliance with PCAOB standards, and firm methodologies.
  • Offer feedback and guidance to enhance audit quality and support the development of engagement teams.
  • Support internal and external inspections and quality monitoring processes for PCAOB audits.

Requirements

  • ACCA-qualified member with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in external audits.
  • Working knowledge of audit methodologies, preferably with experience in US GAAP audits.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in English, as the role involves regular client interaction.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and resolve issues effectively.
  • Willingness to work from our Ahmedabad office.
