Jewelry Designer creates original, artistic, and functional jewelry pieces by conceptualizing designs, selecting materials like metals and gemstones, and creating sketches or CAD models. Responsibilities include client consultation, overseeing prototyping and production, quality control, and staying informed on current trends and market demand to produce aesthetically appealing and commercially viable jewelry for custom orders or mass production.
Core Responsibilities
Design Conceptualization :
Develop and sketch unique jewelry ideas, such as rings, necklaces, and bracelets.
Material Selection :
Choose appropriate metals, gemstones, beads, and other materials, considering their properties and cost.
Digital Design :
Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings for manufacturing.
Prototyping :
Create prototypes to test designs for durability, comfort, and style.
Client Collaboration :
Meet with clients to understand their vision and requirements for bespoke pieces.
Production Oversight :
Guide and collaborate with craftsmen and manufacturers to ensure the production process aligns with the design.
