Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site General Manager – E & D (Electrical) role based in Vadodara. The General Manager will oversee and manage the electrical and design functions within the organization. Key responsibilities include developing and executing engineering and design strategies, managing project delivery with a focus on quality and timeliness, supervising team members, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This role will require close collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet organizational objectives effectively.
Qualifications
Extensive expertise in electrical engineering and design methodologies
Proven experience in team leadership and project management
Strong knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking capabilities
Proficiency in relevant software and tools required for electrical and design processes
Relevant technical or engineering degree is preferred; advanced degrees are an advantage
Previous experience in the related industry is highly desirable

Introduce Departmental Processes, systems, policies, for Design & Development of existing
Product development, New Product Development, Application development, and Technical
Services to meet Business Goals
Periodically evaluate efficacy of the Departmental Processes for necessary course correction
Confer with the concerned Functionaries viz. Business Development, Operations, etc. for
innovation and Product Improvements, to meet Market demands
Evolve protocol for New Product Development, existing product improvement, Process
changes, etc. for operational effectiveness or Product Application enhancements
Create system for speedy and accurate inputs to Operations and Quality for cost-effective
execution
Guide and support creation of Standards for timely and cost-effective Production and
modifications for enhancing Market share and meeting customer expectation
Technology Partner & Operational Excellence
Establish Monitoring Mechanism in place to ensure adherence to approved Product development Process & Quality Standards
Drive innovation in existing products and promote new Product Development according to Business product roadmap
Create mechanisms for Cost effective, speedy and efficient delivery of New Product outputs for effective execution and timely launch & sale in the market
Periodically review adequacy of new / existing Products / Projects with Business Development and Execution, for improved Market share and Profitability
Lead new technology development projects for performance improvement of existing products, New product development, productivity improvements, etc.
Incorporate relevant expertise and experience in various initiatives / projects in line with brand / product strategy
Actively search for best-in-class technologies among competitors and develop innovation roadmap
Cooperate closely with concerned Functionaries viz. BD / Operations Heads to assure customer focus and target costing; co-develop product roadmaps
Demand and Secure adherence to Org. Values and Code of Conduct by all Team Members
Investigate Product failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions
Institutionalize Value Engineering for economical procurement / replacement of RM or input materials
Create System for tracking efficacy of Quality Control / Assurance processes and parameters
Build Quality Control & Assurance Policy, Systems & Processes and ensure adherence to the same
Represent Company in technical presentations made to potential customers and provide necessary support to Marketing
Track rework and wastages arising out of Product specifications for future correction
Evolve a system for Knowledge Management for archiving past learnings to ensure Operational Excellence
Monitor ERP to capture & maintain various Technology / R&D related data
Establish and maintain operational budgets for his team personnel and equipment
Proactively respond to dynamically altering Manufacturability requirement from NPD standpoint
Guide and support various initiatives viz. Process / Projects for effective execution
Benchmark Products vis-à-vis competition for Process / production time, input cost and performance
Promote Quality consciousness by adherence to quality norms by Key Stakeholders viz. Manufacturing, Quality and SCM
Support R&D projects at group level participating in meetings and sharing technical information and "best-practices”
Encourage "best-practice" sharing through the participation and promotion of meetings, newsletters, knowledge sharing tools and all other initiatives
Periodically seek Customer Feedback from Business Development for improvement of internal processes
Proactively receive and process Feedback from Quality department
Become Technology Partner to Customers by suggesting best of the technology to benefit them, releasing & sharing knowledge base, providing timely technical support, product enhancement requirements, etc.
Write / Share performance requirements for product development
Review and approve raw material requisitions for trials when required
Ensure submission of all environmental Clearance data for all the products
Ensure effective and optimised use of resources procured for trials
Implement & Ensure Good Lab Practices
Develop and Lead Team
Ensure obtain 'Right' Manpower with support of HR Department
Establish high and stretched Performance Standards by Team members and ensure their achievement
Continuously upgrade Team Capability and Departmental Efficiency by providing improvement suggestions
Provide feedback to Team on customer problems or needs
Monitor, improve, measure and manage performance of Team
Promote a culture of sharing and team working for superior performance
Candidates from electrical equipment or power systems design roles will be preferred
