About the Role :
We are seeking a highly skilled Guidewire Engineer to design, configure, and implement Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in Guidewire development (Gosu, Java, PCF, APIs) along with a solid understanding of insurance industry processes such as underwriting, policy administration, and claims handling.
You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with business and technical teams to deliver high-quality, scalable Guidewire solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Configuration & Development :
- Customize and configure Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter to align with business requirements.
- Configure product model, rating engine, APIs, UI (PCF), batch processes, and integrations.
- Implement workflows and business rules using Gosu scripting.
Technical Expertise :
Develop and maintain Guidewire applications using Guidewire Studio, Java, Gosu, and related tools.Integrate with REST and SOAP web services and other enterprise systems.Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve configuration and system integration issues.Insurance Domain Knowledge :
Apply knowledge of underwriting, policy administration, and claims handling processes to system design.Work with business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.Agile Development :
Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives, and code reviews.Deliver high-quality, testable code within Agile delivery cycles.Testing & Maintenance :
Conduct unit testing, debugging, and system validation to ensure stability and performance.Maintain Guidewire systems with timely updates, patches, and enhancements.Collaboration & Stakeholder Management :
Work closely with BAs, QA teams, architects, and integration engineers to ensure successful end-to-end implementations.Communicate progress, risks, and solutions effectively to both technical and business stakeholders.Continuous Learning :
Stay updated on the latest Guidewire features, best practices, and insurance technology trends.Required Skills & Qualifications :
Education : Bachelors / Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Technical Skills :
Strong experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter.Proficiency in Java, Gosu scripting, Guidewire Studio, and PCF configuration.Experience with APIs (REST & SOAP), integrations, and batch processing.Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.Soft Skills :
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.Ability to work in Agile / Scrum environments.Certifications :
Guidewire Certified Specialist (PolicyCenter / ClaimCenter) preferred.Preferred / Bonus Skills :
Experience in cloud deployments of Guidewire solutions.Knowledge of CI / CD, DevOps pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.Exposure to data migration projects within Guidewire(ref : hirist.tech)
