Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Accountant located in Bengaluru. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable / receivable, general ledger, payroll, and budgeting, billing, Gst filling. The role involves preparing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and providing guidance to the accounting staff.

Responsibilities

Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements.

Manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end / year-end closing activities.

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.

Coordinate and liaise with internal and external auditors.

Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and vendor / client reconciliations.

Prepare and file GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns.

Monitor cash flow, banking operations, and treasury management.

Implement and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets.

Lead, guide, and review the work of junior accountants and finance staff.

Provide insights and recommendations to management for process improvement and cost optimization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Professional certifications (CA / CPA / CMA) preferred.

Minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting / finance experience.

Strong knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP / IFRS) and taxation.

Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).

KEY SKILS

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Experience with accounts payable / receivable, general ledger, payroll, and budgeting

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus

Experience in the construction or engineering industry is a plus
