Role Overview :
The Senior Manager Oracle DBA will lead the strategic management of Medantas enterprise database ecosystem.
This role goes beyond administration to include team leadership, vendor coordination, capacity planning, and implementation of enterprise-wide database strategies to support high-availability healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Database Management :
- Oversee administration of multi-terabyte, production-critical Oracle databases across multiple hospitals.
- Define and implement disaster recovery strategies (Active / Passive Dataguard) and capacity planning.
- Ensure security compliance, auditing, and governance for all enterprise & Collaboration :
- Lead a team of DBAs, providing mentoring, guidance, and technical training.
- Coordinate with vendors on patches, upgrades, and bug resolutions within defined SLAs.
- Work closely with IT, implementation, and QA teams to align database operations with business & Innovation :
- Drive proactive database performance optimization and query tuning at scale.
- Lead deployment of enterprise-wide replication (Golden Gate) and upgrade initiatives.
- Ensure robust database monitoring, automation, and high availability & Processes :
- Establish best practices for database documentation, change management, and issue tracking.
- Manage release deployment strategies and post-deployment go-live support.
- Contribute to new solution design and roadmap discussions for database & Qualifications :
- 10+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, with at least 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Expertise in Golden Gate replication, Oracle Application Server, and WebLogic administration.
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery strategies, capacity planning, and performance management.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage vendors, and handle enterprise-level database initiatives.
- Proficiency in PL / SQL, RMAN, OEM, and Unix / Linux shell scripting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making Skills :
- Exposure to SQL Server administration and cross-platform integration.
- Experience working in healthcare provider IT systems.
- Advanced certifications in Oracle technologies (e.g., OCP, OCM)
