Primary Responsibilities :
- Identify chemical risks related to mixing chemistries (e.g., inorganic with organic chemicals).
- Verify chemical resistance of new or existing components, primarily plastics, under defined chemical exposures.
- Conduct material testing for characterization and compatibility with various chemistries.
- Drive material-related failure analysis for returned units from the field.
- Test and define hardware limits with respect to chemical properties, including viscosity, concentration, and temperature.
- Facilitate the release of new chemicals based on customer requests, ensuring alignment with design, safety, and process requirements.
- Provide technical data in trade-off tables to summarize usable materials in design / redesign phases, including correlated risk assessments.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on failure analysis findings and communicate results effectively to stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
- Contribute as a key technical expert in chemical engineering and participate in cross-functional projects to advance sustainable solutions.
