About the Role
This role offers the opportunity to work on
Private Equity and M&A transactions
with a focus on
deal origination and execution . Key responsibilities include
financial modeling, valuation (DCF, comps, precedent deals), due diligence, and preparation of investment memoranda / pitchbooks . The role also covers
transaction structuring, synergy analysis, negotiation support, and exit planning (secondary sales, strategic buyouts, IPO readiness) .
The candidate will actively engage with
corporates, financial sponsors, and institutional investors , supporting senior bankers in managing relationships and identifying new investment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Origination & Sourcing
Identify and evaluate potential investment and acquisition opportunities through industry research, databases, and professional networks.
Build and maintain relationships with promoters, corporates, funds, bankers, and advisors to generate deal flow.
Track private equity transactions, strategic acquisitions, and fund-raising opportunities across sectors.
Financial Analysis & Valuation
Develop detailed financial models for M&A and PE transactions, including DCF, trading / transaction comps, and scenario analysis.
Conduct in-depth financial statement analysis, benchmarking, and sensitivity analysis.
Prepare investment memoranda, valuation reports, and board-level presentations.
Transaction Execution
Support end-to-end execution of M&A and PE deals including due diligence, negotiations, structuring, and documentation.
Coordinate with legal, tax, and due diligence advisors to ensure smooth execution.
Assist in drafting term sheets, transaction notes, and regulatory submissions where required.
Client Coverage & Advisory
Assist senior bankers in managing client relationships with corporates, investors, and financial sponsors.
Prepare pitchbooks, proposals, and client presentations for new mandates.
Participate in client discussions, offering analytical insights and strategic inputs.
Support in post-investment monitoring, portfolio tracking, and exit strategy planning.
Market & Sector Research
Conduct sector mapping and thematic research to identify new investment themes and acquisition opportunities.
Track macroeconomic, regulatory, and competitive developments impacting M&A / PE activity.
Generate insights to support origination, client advisory, and strategic decision-making.
Team Collaboration & Representation
Work closely with Directors / Partners in live deal execution.
Collaborate with internal teams (Research, Debt, ECM, Coverage) to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
Represent the firm at investor conferences, roadshows, and industry forums to strengthen network and visibility.
Qualifications & Experience :
CA / CFA / Postgraduate in Finance or related field.
4–6 years of experience in investment banking or corporate banking.
Prior exposure to coverage banking or client-facing analytical roles preferred.
Experience in preparing pitchbooks and working on live deals will be an advantage.
