Job description

Job Title : PQMS / FSMS Coordinator

Location : Ranchi, Jharkhand

Reporting To : QA Manager / Plant Head

Job Purpose :

To ensure effective implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of Product Quality Management System (PQMS) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS) as per company standards, FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000 requirements, and applicable statutory norms.

Key Responsibilities : 1. Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare, update, and control PQMS & FSMS documentation (SOPs, manuals, forms, records).
  • Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP, and related standards.
  • Maintain updated records for audits, inspections, and certifications.
  • Support in external audits (FSSC, ISO, customer audits, regulatory).

2. Implementation & Monitoring

  • Coordinate the implementation of food safety and quality systems across departments.
  • Conduct internal audits and follow up on corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Verify and monitor process controls, CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs.
  • Support departments in maintaining GMP, GHP, and hygiene practices.
  • 3. Training & Awareness

  • Conduct or coordinate regular trainings on food safety, hygiene, and quality practices.
  • Ensure awareness among employees regarding PQMS & FSMS objectives and policies.
  • 4. Product & Process Quality

  • Support QA team in product inspection, sensory evaluation, and quality checks.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for non-conformities and customer complaints.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure quality compliance.
  • 5. Continual Improvement

  • Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to quality improvement projects.
  • Ensure timely updates and revision of system procedures as per management or audit findings.
  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • Education : B.Tech / M.Sc in Food Technology, Microbiology, or related discipline.
  • Experience : 2–5 years in food manufacturing, preferably with exposure to FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000 systems.
  • Key Skills :

  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
  • Excellent documentation and record management skills.
  • Good communication and training abilities.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate across departments and handle audits confidently.
  • Work Conditions :

  • Plant-based role with regular floor audits and cross-department coordination.
  • May require flexible working hours during audits or critical production periods.
