Staff Software Engineer

SUMMARY

This position is based in the product engineering team of the Entertainment Technology group.

In this role, you will design and build audio and video software for global users in consumer entertainment and automotive industries in collaboration with key industry partners. The role involves designing and developing Dolby's audio and video technologies, including Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, along with operating systems integration and application development.

The position requires deep knowledge of multimedia frameworks, audio / video technologies, a very good understanding of operating system internals (e.g. Android, iOS, Linux) and associated application frameworks. The position demands a candidate capable of independently planning and developing software components against technical and schedule challenges, following strong software design and process principles while mentoring junior team members. The position requires working within an international engineering team marrying deep technical leadership with an ability to work across geographies and cultures. It includes direct interactions with engineering leads, product managers, customers, and other business units.

• Independently plan, design, develop, and deliver software products on schedule
• Define system-level architecture and implement software engineering design patterns for robust code structure
• Establish clear software design requirements and performance objectives
• Lead and actively participate in software design, code reviews, and bug resolution
