Job description

Position Summary

The DDS Manager in Pune leads a team responsible for stewarding sales data, ensuring its accuracy, integrity, and usability for the sales organization. This role oversees daily operations, drives process improvements, manages projects, and develops team members to their full potential. The manager acts as a key liaison between DDS, sales teams, vendors, data sources, and technology partners, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. This is a full-time job, working four days a week in the office and one day from home, reporting to the Head of Data Stewardship in the USA.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

  • Experienced in leading and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Advanced expertise in data stewardship, sales operations, and process optimization within a global, cross-cultural environment.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Salesforce, SQL, Excel, Python, and Jira, with the ability to oversee technical documentation and code development.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including direct client engagement and satisfaction.
  • A history of successful project management, delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Strategic decision-making abilities, resilience under pressure, and an initiative-taking approach to problem-solving.

  • Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, and facilitating training for both operational and technical skill development.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop DDS team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and engagement.
  • Guide the team through escalated issues, day-to-day workflow management, and talent development initiatives.
  • Conduct regular reviews, provide coaching, and identify growth opportunities for team members.
  • Facilitate training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge in both operational and technical areas.
  • Responsible for the team's annual performance reviews and ensuring alignment with department goals.
  • Process Management & Improvement

  • Oversee the intake, monitoring, and stewardship of trade, asset, firm, office, contact-related data.
  • Ensure data accuracy for sales reporting, CRM dashboards, and other data touchpoints.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing processes, and aid in establishing new processes to meet business needs.
  • Document requirements and processes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Oversee technical documentation and code development by business analysts.
  • Project Leadership

  • Serve as project lead / product owner for DDS-led initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data analysts to ensure project success.
  • Manage cross-functional projects with technical, financial planning, business intelligence, and sales teams.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects within budget and scope.
  • Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Develop and maintain relationships with sales teams, vendors, data sources, technology partners, and clients.
  • Interface directly with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Respond to ad hoc information requests and provide solutions to operational challenges.
  • Technical Oversight

  • Apply SQL logic for data validation, reconciliation, and backend analysis.
  • Guide research and troubleshooting for data discrepancies and process issues.
  • Maintain high technical standards and support the technical team in resolving issues and implementing solutions.
  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Create job descriptions, review candidates, conduct interviews, and hire new team members as needed.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and implementing improvement plans.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, project status, and operational efficiency for senior management.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making

  • Proactively identify operational and technical issues, developing and implementing effective solutions by collaborating with different teams.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making abilities and resilience under pressure.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Data Science, Information Systems, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data stewardship, sales operations, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, project management, and process optimization.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles and sales data processes.
  • Experience collaborating with global teams and cross-cultural environments.
  • Proficient in technical support and understanding relevant technologies such as Salesforce, SQL, Excel, Python, and Jira.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across business and technological functions.
  • Experience with SQL for querying, validating, and reconciling data.
