Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Maternal Fetal Medicine Consultant to join the Women’s & Children’s department.

About Northern Health :

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses :

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

The Role :

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing sub-specialist services in maternal-fetal medicine (CMFM) and obstetrics (RANZCOG). The role incorporates increasing the MFM service in providing high quality clinical care to obstetric patients, promoting patient quality and safety, providing leadership, supervision, training for doctors in training and other health workers in collaboration with other consultants and the Heads of Units.

To be successful in the role you will have :

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner’s Regulation Agency (AHPRA), in the relevant specialty with no conditions, undertakings or reprimands.
  • Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) or an equivalent higher specialist qualification
  • Recognised qualifications in Maternal Fetal Medicine such as the RANZCOG Certificate in Maternal Fetal Medicine (CMFM) or equivalent OR the Certificate of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Ultrasound (COGU) with demonstrated experience in managing high risk pregnancies (or anticipation of acquiring one of these qualifications within 12 months of employment)
  • Candidates without CMFM or COGU, but with equivalent experience in management of high-risk pregnancies in a senior clinical leadership role at a tertiary hospital may be considered.
  • Current National Police and Working with Children History Check.
