Assistant Manager - the Role :
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Accounting Manager to support our accounting department in managing financial reporting, team coordination, and ensuring timely completion of accounting tasks.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in accounting principles, and the ability to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams.
This role plays a crucial part in maintaining financial accuracy, process improvements, and compliance with internal and external regulations.
Key Closing & Financial Reporting :
- Oversee and review monthly closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Team Management & Coordination :
Lead and supervise accounting team activities, delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.Provide training and mentoring to junior team members to enhance their skills and productivity.Bookkeeping & Quality Control :
Perform detailed review and double-check bookkeeping and accounting entries to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data.Client & US Office Communication :
Act as a primary point of contact for clients and the US office, addressing queries, clarifying accounting treatments, and ensuring smooth communication.Management Information System (MIS) Reporting :
Prepare comprehensive MIS reports including budget tracking, variance analysis, and other financial metrics for management review.CPA Work Papers & Compliance :
Assist in the preparation and review of CPA work papers, ensuring adherence to audit and regulatory requirements.Tax Assistance :
Support income tax preparation and filing processes, including assisting with 1099s and W-2s preparation and filing.Time Entry & Process Monitoring :
Oversee Intacct time entry processes, monitor accounting systems and internal processes for opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Employee Relations & Performance Management :
Foster positive employee relationships, manage performance evaluations, and support HR initiatives within the accounting team.Internal Process Adherence :
Ensure strict compliance with internal controls and processes such as Document Checklists, Activity Lists, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Financial Work Papers.Operational Efficiency :
Collaborate with management to identify and implement improvements to enhance client profitability and departmental efficiency.Data Collection & Client Billing :
Assist management in timely collection of key client data including Work Planners and Financial Statements Submission Checklists.Manage client billing processes, with a focus on hourly clients.Confidentiality & Compliance :
Maintain confidentiality of client information and strictly adhere to guidelines set by ISO / IEC : 27001 standards to ensure data security.Required Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.8 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with exposure to team handling and managerial responsibilities.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.Proficiency with accounting software such as Intacct or equivalent ERP systems.Excellent communication skills for client interaction and cross-functional coordination.Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.Understanding of ISO / IEC : 27001 standards or similar compliance frameworks is a plus(ref : iimjobs.com)
