Technical Director – BESS

Overview :

Inuka is working with a leading renewable energy company to hire a Technical Director – BESS, based in India. The role will provide senior technical leadership across utility-scale battery energy storage projects, ensuring best-in-class engineering, system design, procurement strategy, and project execution across the company’s India and APAC portfolio.

Responsibilities :

• Lead the end-to-end technical development of large-scale BESS projects, from concept design through commissioning.
• Define system architecture, technology configurations, and performance requirements for BESS solutions.
• Oversee engineering studies, technical specifications, design reviews, and system integration.
• Guide procurement strategy, evaluate OEM technologies, and support negotiations with battery, inverter, and EPC partners.
• Provide technical due diligence support for acquisitions, partnerships, and project financing.
• Ensure compliance with national grid codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with development, finance, EPC, and O&M teams to align technical and commercial outcomes.
• Lead troubleshooting and high-level technical issue resolution during construction and operations.
• Build internal engineering capability by mentoring junior engineers and promoting technical excellence.
