Role Overview :
The Team Lead General accounting role will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of Embark, including managing and maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and budgeting. The role involves supervising accounting staff, reconciling accounts and providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities :
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports
- Manage the team who reconcile the bank accounts, AP and O2C.
- Prepare Ind AS compliant standalone and consolidated financial statements
Taxation & Compliance Prepare and file GST, TDS, and other statutory returns
Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policiesAssist in audits and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodiesBudgeting & Analysis
Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial modelsMonitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysisProvide insights to improve financial efficiency and decision-makingProcess Optimization
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiencySupport automation initiatives and system upgradesStakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with internal teams to manage financial aspects of projectsProvide timely financial insights to support business decisionsRequirements
Required Qualifications :
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)Up to 3 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounting, or auditStrong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, taxation, and complianceProficiency in financial tools and softwareAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of financial modellingExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environmentAbility to lead teamRequirements
