ABOUT THE ROLE
The Research Associate aligned to our CFO function will leverage his / her expertise and knowledge to work closely with our CFO teams in a local, regional, and global capacity, and also build an external network of industry or functional sources and experts that they can tap into to drive client solutions.
The researcher autonomously coordinates the search process and client ready documentation. He / she manages projects (assignments, pitch preparation, etc.) in partnership with the consultant, creating an effective project plan that ensures the team delivers on client expectations and timelines. Further, our new research colleague provides candidate identification for assignments, validates, calibrates and prioritizes candidates on assignments and will leverage his / her deep domain knowledge and external network to drive C-level / senior candidate recommendations.
This is an individual contributor role, which requires extensive collaboration and engagement with colleagues in the London office. This role will be visible to clients and will be expected to help develop key account strategies.
Assignment allocation will be flexed on the basis of workload, capacity and other considerations, meaning the Research Associate may be required work on assignments in different Practice Groups from time to time. He / she should collaborate seamlessly across Practice Groups regularly.
The Research Associate reports to the Sarah Cross, Head of Research in London, and at KCI will collaborate with Geetika Sodhi, Research Principal and Ravi Yadav, Expert Leader based in Gurgaon. The role will also partner closely with those consultants who specialize in CFO assignments.
Key Accountabilities :
Assignment Execution
- Collaborating with different teams across EZ offices on assignments, e.g., building target list of companies, identifying potential candidates for the assignment, assisting in market mapping and market analysis
- Comprehensively searching internal and external resources to identify companies and markets to be targeted for relevant candidates
- Assisting in ensuring relevant information is captured effectively into our database and is up to date
- Conducting market outreach by phone, including candidate pre-screening, sourcing and referencing as required to support consultants
- Generating client deliverables e.g. status reports, mapping reports, pitch packs, long lists, candidate profiles etc.
- Assisting colleagues with assignments, candidate ideas and sources.
Business Development
Proactively monitoring and tracking relevant market developments, tracking people moves, following critical company developments and disseminating the information in a targeted manner.Proactively providing insights on industry trends and key companiesActing as a thought partner to research and consulting colleagues, work on search strategy, benchmarking candidatesAssisting or leading the development of marketing presentations for the practice groupPractice group performance reporting.Knowledge Management
Building a repository of knowledge on the sector / industry, creating org charts, managing people moves and sector movements.Interviewing and assessing potential candidates (including drop-ins) and conducting proactive outreach to market contacts to gain insight and to understand their motivation in relation to potential opportunities.Develop specialist knowledge into sector trends, compensation data and characteristics of the sector.Regularly share market insights with colleagues beyond the practice group.Participating in global research projects to contribute to firm knowledge and bring international connections back to the local team.Required knowledge / experience :
At least 8-12 years relevant professional experience in an international setting / global company in Industry, Consulting or Research, ideally within a geographically dispersed teamExperience of working on international engagements in a professional services environment (must have) with an understanding of UK market (preferred)Prior experience in and / or Industry experience is highly desirable.
