About Research & Development Office
The Research and Development Office (RDO) at Ashoka has been created to provide centralised assistance to Ashoka faculty and researchers towards academic research. This is done through a set of proactive, capacity-building strategies to increase the University's competitive advantage and international prominence. The office has four major operation areas – extramural grant management, research infrastructure management, research scholars' management, and research communication.
This role would oversee two operational areas research infrastructure management and research scholar's management.
Role and Responsibilities :
Administrative Support :
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the RDO, including scheduling meetings, maintaining office records, and managing correspondence.
- Maintain databases and records of research projects, grants, publications, and collaborations.
Documentation & Reporting :
Prepare and format documents such as grant applications, project reports, MoUs, and internal memos.Assist in compiling data for institutional reports and compliance submissions.Research Grant Coordination :
Support faculty and researchers in preparing and submitting research proposals.Track project timelines, budgets, and reporting deadlines under supervision.Communication & Outreach :
Help in preparing communication materials like email newsletters, event notices, and project updates.Coordinate logistics for research-related events such as seminars, workshops, and webinars.Compliance & Record-Keeping :
Ensure proper documentation of ethics approvals, funding agency requirements, and institutional policies.Support audit processes by organizing and submitting required records.Liaison & Coordination :
Coordinate with faculty, finance, HR, and other departments for smooth execution of research-related tasks.Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders related to research operations.Skill Sets
Bachelor's or Master's degree in any discipline (preferably Science, Engineering, Management, or Administration).1–2 years of experience in administrative, academic, or research support roles.Familiarity with research administration or higher education institutions preferred.Possess a strategic bent of mind combined with strong execution abilityManage resources optimallyBuild productive relationships with all internal and external stakeholdersTake the initiative, manage high workloads and inspire teams to deliver high-quality outputSkills Required
