Role PurposeThe Chief Operating Officer will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all healthcare institutions operating under the idara’s purview across India and outside India. The position is responsible for setting national healthcare standards, ensuring institutional compliance, promoting operational excellence, and advancing the department’s mission of quality, accessibility, and wellbeing in healthcare delivery for the community as well as humanity at large.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic & Policy Oversight- Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for healthcare governance under the Department of Healthcare.- Formulate and enforce policies, guidelines, and best practices applicable to hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes.- Oversee the alignment of institutional objectives with the department’s overall health and wellness vision.- Drive system-wide initiatives for standardization, efficiency, and sustainability.- Help create a comprehensive tertiary heath care network comprising of but not limited to Home Care, Local Medical Centres, General Hospitals, etc (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Quaternary Care)2. Governance & Institutional Coordination- Establish frameworks for regular monitoring and reporting across all healthcare institutions.- Coordinate with institutional heads and management teams to ensure compliance with approved policies.- Facilitate inter-institutional collaboration, capacity building, and knowledge sharing.- Represent the department in high-level consultations, reviews, and coordination forums.3. Quality, Compliance & Standards- Introduce and monitor national benchmarks for patient safety, service quality, and clinical governance.- Oversee accreditation, audits, and regulatory compliance across institutions.- Ensure continuous improvement in healthcare delivery standards and operational discipline.4. Financial & Operational Monitoring- Review and guide institutional budgets, resource utilization, and performance metrics.- Strengthen systems for financial transparency, accountability, and efficiency.- Support sustainable operational models and rational allocation of funds.5. Public Health & Community Initiatives- Promote preventive and community health programs in coordination with relevant agencies.- Direct national-level awareness and wellness campaigns under the department's mandate.- Support research and data-driven initiatives for evidence-based health planning.6. Leadership & Representation- Provide thought leadership to guide institutional heads and management teams.- Build a culture of professionalism, integrity, and service excellence.- Represent the department in national and regional platforms, partnerships, and strategic forums.Qualification / Education : - Postgraduate degree in Management (MBA / PGDM or equivalent) from a recognized institution is mandatory.- Medical qualification (MBBS / MD) is desirable.- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in senior leadership roles, preferably in healthcare, hospital management, or large institutional governance.- Candidates without a medical background must demonstrate substantial experience in managing or leading healthcare institutions.- Leadership Competencies : - Strategic and analytical thinking- Policy formulation and implementation capability- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills- Decision-making and problem-solving under complex conditions- Integrity, accountability, and professional ethics- Collaborative and inclusive leadership style- Commitment to quality, service, and community welfareSalary range : As per Industry & Market StandardsExperience : Minimum 10 years in the Healthcare of allied sectors.To Apply Please Click -
