zLinux Systems Administrator

As a zLinux System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world. There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients. Key Responsibilities :

o Understanding of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures on Linux systems.

o Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.

o Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux-based infrastructure.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that meet business needs.

o Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

o Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures to minimize data loss and maintain business continuity.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

o 7+ years of experience as a zLinux Administrator.

o Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat.

o Proficient in Linux command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting.

o Experience with zVM virtualization Environment and x360s zLinux Architecture.

o Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and services, including TCP / IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.

o Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, is advantageous.

o Ability to adapt to new technologies and stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Linux administration

o Install, configure, and maintain network services, including DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

o Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

o Strong understanding of server hardware and experience in server management.

o Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure proper system security and data integrity.

o Collaborate with software developers and system analysts to troubleshoot and resolve software compatibility issues on Linux platforms.
