Job Description
As a skilled Financial Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records. This includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries and adjusting entries as needed
- Reconcile financial discrepancies and resolve accounting issues
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts
Tax Preparation
As a Financial Specialist, you will also prepare and file personal (T1) and corporate (T2) tax returns in compliance with CRA regulations.
E nsure all required tax documents and financial data are accurately compiledIdentify potential tax deductions and credits for clientsLiaise with clients to gather necessary documentation and answer tax-related questionsQuickBooks Management
You will maintain and update company books using QuickBooks Online / Desktop, generate financial reports, and manage chart of accounts.
Set up new clients and manage multiple company files if neededProvide QuickBooks support and troubleshootingAdministrative Duties
Assist with document management, filing, and data entry, handle correspondence with clients, vendors, and government agencies, and support office operations.
Maintain confidentiality and security of financial and client recordsSupport scheduling, answering phones, and email communicationsRequirements
To be successful as a Financial Specialist, you must have :
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum 2–5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting and tax preparationProficient in QuickBooks (Online / Desktop)Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations (personal and corporate)Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting softwareExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong time management and organizational skillsAbility to handle confidential information with integrity
