What you'll do

We are looking for a strategic, execution-minded Lead Data Scientist to be the powerhouse behind Docusign's transformation from Sales-Led to Self-Serve-Led growth. Partnering with a cross-functional squad, you will expand the self-serve engine to reach and grow customers through a seamless omni-channel experience. You will lead strategic analyses and hands-on experimentation to discover, validate, and scale new ways to drive acquisition, expansion, and retention. In this high-impact position, you will lead performance readouts, design end-to-end experiments, and deliver compelling insights that pave the way for a frictionless customer journey. Our ideal candidate combines best-in-class analytical skills and a strong strategic mindset with a proven record of turning data into business impact.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Growth Data Science.

Responsibility

Set the analytics strategy and roadmap for the Self‑Serve-Led Growth segments, aligning with company‑wide growth objectives and steering high‑impact initiatives
Design, implement, and analyze experiments (A/B tests, causal inference) that inform product, marketing, and GTM decisions and quantify business impact
Proactively identify growth opportunities and risks, using forecasting and scenario modeling to guide resource allocation and prioritization
Translate complex analyses into clear, data‑backed recommendations for senior leadership, influencing strategic direction across Growth, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success

Provide regular reporting on key metrics to executive leadership, highlighting successes, identifying risks, and recommending proactive solutions
Apply advanced analytical techniques (e.g., predictive modeling, customer segmentation, LTV analysis) to understand customer behavior, forecast outcomes, and inform strategic initiatives

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

8+ years of experience in Analytics, Data Science, or related roles - ideally spanning growth analytics, strategic/consulting analytics, or sales‑operations analytics in a SaaS environment
Deep expertise with experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, causal inference) and strategic analysis
Advanced proficiency in SQL plus Python or R, and strong command of visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to distill complex analytical findings into concise, actionable recommendations for executive audiences
Proven ability to independently identify growth opportunities and strategically influence cross-functional teams

Preferred

Prior partnership with Growth Product Management, Marketing, or GTM leadership, influencing strategy through data‑driven insights
Experience operating in hybrid self‑serve / sales‑assisted SaaS business models
MBA, MS, or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics)
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present complex data analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership
