Project Overview :

Palladium India is implementing projects with Hon. Balasaheb Thackeray Agribusiness & Rural Transformation Project, SMART where Palladium as Technical Support Agency (TSA) is implementing Value Chain Development Sub-projects of SMART with an objective ‘to support the development of inclusive and competitive agriculture value chains, focusing on smallholder farmers and Agri-entrepreneurs in Maharashtra’

Job Summary : The Food Safety and Quality Associate plays a critical role in maintaining and improving food safety and quality standards within our production facility. This position supports compliance with regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, GMP) and internal quality systems through routine inspections, documentation, and corrective action follow-up. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, knowledge of food safety principles, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities :

• Assist in selecting appropriate processing methods, technologies and food processing systems to convert raw materials into edible and safe food products.
• Support in maintaining consistent product quality adhering to strict quality standards by conducting inspections during operations and to address any issues that may arise during production.
• Ensure the safety of food products and practices to prevent contamination, spoilage, and the growth of harmful microorganisms.
• Update CBOs on relevant laws and regulations to maintain compliance.
• Ensure optimization of production processes, minimizing waste, and efficiently utilizing resources.
• Support in impart techniques to CBO employees to maintaining consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
• Provide and ensure sustainable practices that minimize the environmental impact of production processes and packaging.
• Guide processing units in establishing and enforcing practices that prevent contamination, spoilage and the growth of harmful microorganisms securing consumer well-being
• Provide guidance for inventory management, transportation coordination, and storage tracking ensure smooth operations and minimize disruptions.
• Support the program in preparing the SoPs for food safety, hygiene, food management, process management, pre and post-harvest management and production management
• Identify areas for cost optimization, reducing waste, and resource allocation, and to suggest it for boosting profitability
• Support team with ad hoc work as and when required
• Attend regular meetings with project staff to ensure smooth communication and problem-solving.
