Mantras2success Consultants is seeking a highly qualified and experienced US Tax Manager to lead and manage tax engagements for our U.S.-based clients. This is a client-facing role , requiring you to handle direct communication with clients from the engagement kickoff to final delivery , ensuring exceptional quality, timeliness, and strict compliance with IRS and state tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Return Management & Review : Manage and meticulously review the preparation of U.S. federal and state tax returns for various entities including individuals ( Form 1040 ), corporations ( Form 1120 for C-Corps, Form 1120S for S-Corps ), partnerships ( Form 1065 ), and other relevant entities.
- Primary Client Contact : Act as the primary point of contact for U.S.-based clients , handling onboarding, providing regular status updates, resolving issues promptly, and obtaining final sign-off on deliverables.
- Client Communication : Communicate complex tax matters in a clear, concise, and professional manner to clients, effectively explaining options, implications, and best practices.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship : Supervise and actively mentor a team of tax associates and reviewers, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all deliverables and fostering their professional growth.
- Regulatory Compliance & Planning : Stay continuously updated with current IRS regulations and state tax codes , and provide proactive tax planning recommendations to optimize clients' tax positions.
- Final Technical Review : Perform final technical reviews of tax files before client submission or IRS filing, ensuring utmost accuracy and compliance.
- Internal Coordination : Coordinate seamlessly with internal teams (e.g., bookkeeping, audit support) to ensure smooth integration of services and efficient workflow.
- Workflow Management : Manage workflow effectively across tax seasons, set clear priorities, and ensure strict team adherence to all deadlines.
- Correspondence Handling : Handle tax notices, queries, and IRS / state correspondence on behalf of clients where required, providing expert responses.
Qualifications & Skills
Certification : CPA or EA (Enrolled Agent) certification preferred (or equivalent international qualifications with U.S. tax experience).Experience : 2-3 years of hands-on experience in U.S. tax preparation and review , preferably within a public accounting environment.Client Management : Proven experience managing client relationships end-to-end, especially with U.S.-based businesses.Technical Expertise : Deep understanding of U.S. federal and state tax laws , various tax forms (e.g., 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, etc. ), and comprehensive compliance requirements.Soft Skills : Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Work Environment : Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, remote work environment.Software Proficiency : Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProSeries, or similar ) and Microsoft Excel .Preferred Attributes
