Job Purpose
The Business Banking Relationship Manager will be responsible for acquiring and cultivating a diverse portfolio within the DBS SME (Micro and Small) and Retail asset segments. He / She will be responsible for generating revenue from various sources, such as assets, liabilities, and BANCA products, aiming for healthy income while maintaining an acceptable risk profile for the bank. The successful candidate will achieve these results in strict adherence to the bank's prescribed lending guidelines.
Key Accountabilities
- Source new-to-bank asset relationships within the SME segment, targeting businesses with a turnover up to 50 Crore, in alignment with DBS's lending policy
- Source retail assets and current accounts, and actively cross-sell wealth, insurance, and other fee-based products in accordance with permissible DBS policies
- Ensure high-quality sourcing and gather appropriate market feedback before onboarding new customers
- Play a pivotal role in enhancing the profitability of the branch
- Strengthening DBS's brand value and expand its network within the local market through various marketing activities, collaborations, and events
- Comply with all bank processes and policies, ensuring positive ratings during all Country and Group audits
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Identify and acquire new-to-bank asset relationships within the SME segment (up to 50 Crore turnover), ensuring alignment with the Bank Lending Policy. Collaborate with SME Relationship Managers, customers, risk teams, and operations teams to facilitate sanction and disbursement of these relationshipsRefer CASA (Current Account Savings Account) accounts, retail assets, deposits, and other Consumer Banking Group (CBG) products (e.g., Wealth, insurance, CEP) to the relevant Branch team membersActively cross-sell Banca, Liability, Trade, Cash, and Treasury products to acquired clienteleAchieve individual budgeted revenues across all product parametersConduct thorough due diligence during the onboarding process for new asset relationshipsIncrease customer wallet share by consistently exploring opportunities to cross-sell additional bank productsProvide local market insights regarding customers to SME Relationship Managers post-onboarding, as neededAdhere strictly to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirementsComplete all assigned learning programs by DBS in a timely mannerComply with all bank processes and policiesMaintain strong relationships with local business stakeholders, including existing and prospective clients, market leaders, CAs (Chartered Accountants), influencers, and industry associations, to stay updated on current market practices and local intelligenceReport any material information regarding business opportunities, industry risks, or customer risks to senior functional management at regular intervalsRequired Experience
A minimum of 3-5 years of overall sales experienceAt least 2 years of sales experience specifically in SME / Business Banking LendingA proven sales track record in the asset business within the SME / Business Banking or LAP (Loan Against Property) segmentSolid knowledge of competitors and the marketplaceMarket knowledge and experience in the SME segment, particularly concerning customer preferences and requirements, is highly preferredExcellent communication and listening skillsStrong sales and negotiation skillsProficient knowledge of Working Capital FinanceEducation / Preferred Qualifications
