Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager - Reinsurance Operations (Assumed & Ceded)
Responsibilities :
Technical Accounting & Processing - Handle end-to-end processing of technical statements of account ( SoA ) for premiums, claims, and risk transactions across all reinsurance businesses
Contract Setup & Interpretation - Review and interpret reinsurance contracts, wordings, and slips to accurately set up treaty and facultative agreements in operational systems
Financial Booking & Reconciliation - Record and reconcile financial transactions related to premiums, claims, recoveries, and brokerage in accordance with contract terms and accounting policies
Reinsurance Calculations - Perform complex calculations including reinstatement premiums, profit commissions, sliding scale adjustments, and no-claims bonuses
Cash & Receivables Management - Manage unallocated cash and aged receivable clearance, ensuring timely identification, matching, and resolution of outstanding items
Stakeholder & Broker Engagement - Liaise with brokers, reinsurers, and internal finance / underwriting teams to resolve data discrepancies and maintain accurate records
Reporting & Controls - Support management and regulatory reporting needs, maintain audit trails, and ensure compliance with internal controls and reinsurance governance standards
Continuous Improvement & Controls - Strengthen process controls, identify automation opportunities, and drive consistency and efficiency across Reinsurance operations
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate / Postgraduate in any stream
Relevant years of experience in managing Reinsurance Operations processes
Proven experience within Re-Insurance domain preferably Assumed business
Experience in working with SICS system would be added advantage
Preferred Skill Set :
Thorough knowledge of Insurance / Reinsurance business
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
Self-starter, with ability to work under own initiative
Strong time management skills
Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
