About the Role
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to design, develop, and support scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate has deep expertise across core modules (e.g., ITSM , CMDB , Discovery , IntegrationHub ) and can translate business requirements into robust configurations, scripts, integrations, and enterprise-grade applications while adhering to platform best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development Build and customize applications, tables, forms, workflows, UI policies / actions, client / server scripts, script includes, business rules, ACLs.
- Develop Flow Designer flows and Integration Hub spokes; implement REST / SOAP integrations and MID Server–based integrations.
- Implement complex catalog items , record producers , approval flows, and SLA definitions.
- Platform & Module Ownership Configure and optimize ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request), CMDB data model and relationships, and Discovery schedules / patterns where applicable.
- Support additional modules like ITOM , CSM , HRSD , SecOps , GRC / IRM , and SAM / HAM depending on business needs.
- Quality & Governance Apply ServiceNow best practices , guardrails, and performance tuning (e.g., query optimization, indexing, scoped apps).
- Manage code in Source Control (Git) ; maintain update sets , ATF (Automated Test Framework) scripts, and unit tests .
- Ensure security & compliance (ACLs, data policies, encryption, audit logs).
- Lifecycle Management Contribute to upgrade planning (e.g., Vancouver / Washington releases), regression testing, and store app updates.
- Work within Agile / Scrum delivery (grooming, sprint planning, demos), provide estimates, and documentation (technical design, runbooks).
- Collaboration Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and Platform Admins; mentor junior developers; troubleshoot incidents and defects; handle L3 support.
Required Qualifications
5–8 years of hands-on development on ServiceNow (Rome → Washington releases or later).Strong proficiency in :JavaScript , Glide API, Jelly / AngularJS (legacy UI), Service Portal widgets, UI Builder / Now Experience (preferred).Flow Designer , Integration Hub (e.g., REST, SOAP, JDBC, LDAP, email), and MID Server .ITSM configuration, CMDB design (CIs, relationships, normalization, reconciliation), and data loads / transforms.Security model (ACLs, roles, domains), performance tuning, and platform diagnostics.Experience with ATF , update set strategy , source control , and CI / CD (Jenkins / Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions).Solid understanding of Agile practices and documentation standards.Excellent problem solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.Preferred / Bonus Skills
Exposure to ITOM (Discovery, Event, Service Mapping) , SAM / HAM , SecOps , IRM / GRC , CSM , HRSD .Experience with ServiceNow Store apps , Scoped Applications , and custom app development .Knowledge of data governance , CMDB health KPIs (completeness, correctness, compliance).Experience with OAuth , SAML , SSO , and Azure AD / Okta integration.Familiarity with GenAI in Now Platform (e.g., Now Assist) or performance analytics.
