Windows Administrator - Server Infrastructure

Responsibilities :

• Manage and maintain the health, performance, and availability of our Windows Server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
• Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard our Windows environment from internal and external threats.
• Administer and maintain Active Directory (AD) services, including user and group management, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, and DHCP.
• Plan, implement, and test comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity and data integrity.
• Monitor system performance using various tools, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive measures for optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Windows Server-related issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
• Plan and execute server upgrades, migrations, and patching in accordance with change management processes.
• Implement and manage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) within the Windows Server environment.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
• Manage and maintain file and print services, ensuring appropriate access and security.
• Implement and manage network services related to the Windows environment, including TCP / IP configuration and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of business applications.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for Windows Server infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing exercises.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Windows Server technologies, security updates, and industry best practices.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for critical system Skills :
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of progressive experience in Windows Server administration.
• Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Active Directory (AD) design, implementation, and management.
• Proven ability to manage and configure Group Policy Objects (GPOs) effectively.
• Extensive experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
• Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system administration tasks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of TCP / IP networking, DNS, and DHCP.
• Solid understanding of server hardware, storage solutions, and performance monitoring tools.
• Proven experience in implementing and managing backup and recovery solutions.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach.
• Strong understanding of security best practices for Windows Server environments.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a senior member of a collaborative Skills :
• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA : Windows Server, MCSE : Core Infrastructure).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and their Windows Server offerings.
• Knowledge of other scripting languages (e.g., Python).
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., SCCM, Ansible).
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and change management processes.
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, SCOM).
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and implementation in a hybrid or cloud environment
