The Social Media Editor will be responsible for enhancing kannadaprabha.com's presence on various social media platforms, driving engagement, and growing our online audience. Key Responsibilities :
Content Strategy & Management :
Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the editorial goals of The New Indian Express.
Curate, create, and schedule engaging content across all social media platforms, including
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, , and YouTube.
Collaborate with the editorial team to repurpose and promote news articles, opinion pieces, and multimedia content.
Audience Engagement :
Monitor social media channels for trending topics, breaking news, and reader engagement.
Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
Foster a community around The New Indian Express’s social media presence, encouraging reader interaction and feedback.
Analytics & Reporting :
Track and analyze key social media metrics, including engagement rates, follower growth, and traffic to the website.
Prepare regular reports on social media performance and provide actionable insights to the editorial team.
Use data-driven approaches to optimize content and posting strategies.
Brand Voice & Compliance :
Maintain a consistent brand voice across all social media platforms.
Ensure all content is in compliance with journalistic standards and ethical guidelines.
Stay updated on the latest social media policies and platform changes.
Collaboration & Innovation :
Work closely with the design and video teams to produce high-quality visuals and multimedia content for social media.

Lead social media campaigns around special events, investigative stories, or exclusive interviews.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in social media management, preferably within the news / media industry.
Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in social media management tools like Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social.
Knowledge of SEO best practices and web traffic metrics.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, etc.
Creative thinking with a strong sense of newsworthiness and timing.
Preferred Skills :
Experience in digital journalism and content creation.
Video editing and graphic design skills.
Understanding of India’s media landscape and audience preferences.
