Dominican School Semaphore is excited to welcome a dedicated and creative Year 1 Teacher to our vibrant learning community. This is a replacement position commencing 20th January 2026 to 11th December 2026 .

We are looking for an educator who is passionate about sparking curiosity, nurturing growth, and creating an engaging classroom environment where every child feels valued.

The successful applicant will :

• Have an understanding of and contribute to the Catholic ethos of Dominican School;
• Have a commitment to implementing teaching pedagogies and practices which are contemporary, inclusive, innovative and evidence based;
• Have highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with colleagues, students and parents; developing positive and inclusive relationships;
• Have classroom management and organisational skills that create supportive, inclusive and safe environments to support students to have agency in their learning;
• Have the capacity to navigate SEQTA and utilise its recording and communicating functionalities;
• Adopt Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support (PBIS) strategies and display the ability to promote student responsibility and self regulation;
• Have a willingness to be involved in the community life of Dominican School
