Role Overview :

The Sr. Associate India Contracts Solutions will focus primarily on the commercial review of contracts across multiple industries, including Manufacturing, Retail & Consumer, Public Sector (including Government), Healthcare, Automotive, and BFSI.

The role requires strong expertise in redlining, negotiation, contract interpretation, and risk assessment. The ideal candidate must be able to work autonomously, collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and support the clients end-to-end contracting needs.

This position may include local, regional, or global contract support and could involve occasional travel.

Key Review & Negotiation :

Draft, review, redline, negotiate, escalate, and where required, approve various types of commercial contracts.
Assess contractual terms and draft provisions in collaboration with the Team Lead.
Identify and evaluate key contractual risks, obligations, and commercial implications.

Contract Management & Compliance :

Ensure adherence to client-specific contracting policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.

Maintain accurate and secure records of contracts and proposals within organizational systems.

Conduct legal, operational, and administrative research to support contract creation and negotiations.

Engage with relevant stakeholders regarding regulatory, legal, contractual standards, and commercial concerns.

Stakeholder Collaboration :

Maintain continuous communication with internal teams and business partners on contractual issues and deliverables.

Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, Compliance, Procurement, and Operations.

Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to optimize contract terms for better margin and profitability.

Operational Excellence :

Work independently and remotely when required, while seeking guidance appropriately.

Ensure timely completion of deliverables and adherence to SLAs.

Support process improvement initiatives within the contracting and legal operations functions.

Information Security & Compliance :

Comply with UnitedLex Information Security policies and the ISO 27001 : 2022 standard.

Report any information security concerns, vulnerabilities, or incidents promptly.

Uphold confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational and client data.

Qualifications & LLB degree or regional equivalent.

Minimum 4+ years of experience in a law firm and / or global corporate legal department.

Strong experience in redlining, contract drafting, and commercial contract assessment.

Experience with outsourcing / supplier contracts is preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the local language.

Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within diverse teams.

Technical & Functional Skills :

Strong understanding of commercial contract fundamentals, including liabilities, indemnities, warranties, SLAs, pricing, and termination clauses.

Ability to interpret complex contract structures and identify potential legal and commercial risks.

Proficiency in risk / liability assessment and problem-solving.

Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a results-focused approach.

Ability to think creatively and propose alternative solutions where appropriate.
