Job Title - Proposal Engineer - Spare

Qualification - BE / B.Tech

4 to 5 Years (In Relevant field like Boiler / Heater / Heat Exchanger)

Roles and Responsibility

Proposal Preparation and Conversion

Prepare technical and commercial proposals based on customerenquiries

Evaluate customer requirements and convert enquiries toproposals efficiently

Finalize basic engineering specifications and assess systemintegration impact

Customer Engagement and Technical Support

Interact with customers to understand technical needs andresolve queries

Explain offerings clearly to support informeddecision-making

Collect essential data through RFQ or customer visits forcritical enquiries

Technical Documentation and Drawings

Prepare pre-sale stage Process and Instrumentation (P&I)Diagrams

Use AutoCAD for accurate technical drawing and documentation

Internal and External Coordination

Coordinate with Sales, customers, and internal departmentsfor technical clarifications

Participate in techno-commercial discussions with clientsalong with Sales team

Vendor and Cost Management

Float enquiries to vendors and validate supplier offers

Optimize costing using historical data and align offers withfinalized scope and P&I Diagrams

Order Handover and Execution Support

Conduct Order Transfer Meetings (OTM) with all stakeholders

Provide proposal backups, calculations, and vendor offers tosupport engineering execution

Customer Change Management

Handle customer changes such as alternative makes, scopeadditions / deletions

Assess impact of changes on cost and delivery and updateproposals accordingly

Critical Competency

4+ Years Experience in ProposalEngineering , knowledge of thermal and mechanical design ,understanding of boilers and heaters, proficiency in P&ID preparation, knowledge of IBR / EN / ASME codes , proficiency in ERP / SFDC / AutoCAD / SolidEdge , understanding of costing and techno-commercial proposals ,proficiency in Excel and VBA, Thorough Knowledge of Heat, Mass , andEnergy Balance.

Good knowledge in Heater Design and Operations - Ability to identifypotentials and conversion into scalable & sustainable solution.
