We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated Podiatrist to support clients under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) in East Arnhem Land. This role focuses on helping people stay independent, connected to their community, and living safely at home.
This role will see you travel every second week to different Miwatj communities, providing clinical care, assessments, and culturally appropriate treatments. It’s a great opportunity to work both independently and as part of a supportive team, with a strong focus on quality care and safety. This is Full time, Fixed – Term Role until 30 June 2027.

Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, along with an understanding of the challenges faced by Yolŋu people in remote areas. A tertiary qualification in Podiatry with current AHPRA registration and a minimum of three years of clinical experience is essential. Applicants should demonstrate expertise in managing acute and chronic foot conditions, knowledge of primary health and aged care contexts, and principles of chronic disease prevention. Success in this role requires collaborative abilities within a multidisciplinary environment, effective communication skills, and the ability to travel regularly within the Miwatj region.
