Job Posting – Accountant

Position : Accountant

Location : Whispering Woods Resort, Bhiwandi

Department : Finance & Accounts

Reports To : General Manager / Management

Work Mode : On-Site (preferred – stay at the property with food & accommodation provided) or Office-based.

Role Overview

Whispering Woods Resort is looking for a detail-oriented, experienced, and proactive Accountant to manage the end-to-end finance and accounting functions of two business entities :

  • Whispering Woods (Resort Rooms)
  • Basil (Restaurant & F&B Operations)

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing financial statements, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving cost control. The role also requires coordination with multiple teams (Front Office, F&B, and Management), making it a critical part of day-to-day operations. In addition, the position includes support with HR-related responsibilities such as payroll, attendance, and employee documentation.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of hospitality operations, finance management, and HR support , and is ideally suited for candidates with prior experience in hotel or resort accounting .

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management

  • Maintain separate accounts for Whispering Woods (Rooms) and Basil (Restaurant).
  • Accurately record daily transactions, including guest revenue, F&B sales, and expenses.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements .
  • Manage petty cash, vendor invoices, supplier payments, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, TDS, professional tax, etc.) and timely filing of returns.
  • Monitor and report variances in budgets and expenses.
  • 2. Operational Finance Support

  • Coordinate daily with the Front Office team and Restaurant / F&B team to reconcile revenues.
  • Track guest billing, reservations, F&B sales, and discounts.
  • Verify accuracy of POS and room revenue entries.
  • Implement and monitor cost-control measures across departments.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for operational efficiency.
  • 3. HR & Administrative Support

  • Assist with payroll processing and salary disbursement.
  • Maintain accurate employee attendance, leave records, and staff registers.
  • Support management in HR documentation, statutory compliance, and employee onboarding.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in employee financial records.
  • 4. Reporting & Coordination

  • Provide daily / weekly / monthly financial updates to the General Manager and Management.
  • Maintain transparency and accuracy in reporting to internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with management to streamline accounting, payroll, and HR processes .
  • Support internal audits and provide documentation as required.
  • Requirements

  • Educational Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Experience : Prior experience in hotel / resort accounting strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Tally / ERP systems .
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for reporting, analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to manage dual accounts (Rooms + Restaurant) efficiently.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Candidates willing to stay on-site at the property preferred; otherwise, must work from the office.
  • Flexibility to assist with HR-related tasks in addition to core accounting.
