About the Role :

LanceSoft is seeking an experienced COGNOS Developer to design, develop, and optimize business intelligence solutions using IBM Cognos Analytics.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Cognos administration, reporting, and data modeling, along with exposure to Databricks and Big Data ecosystems.

This role is ideal for professionals passionate about building impactful BI solutions that empower data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and pixel-perfect reports using IBM Cognos Framework Manager and Report Studio.
  • Implement and manage Cognos administration, security models, and access controls.
  • Build and optimize data models (relational and dimensional) to support analytical requirements.
  • Write and tune complex SQL queries for data validation and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate data from Databricks, cloud data lakes, and warehouse systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Participate in performance tuning, issue resolution, and report optimization.

Required Skills :

  • Primary Skill : IBM Cognos Analytics
  • Proficiency in Cognos administration, Framework Manager, and Report Studio
  • Expertise in data modeling (relational and dimensional)
  • Strong SQL knowledge for querying, validation, and optimization

    • Good-to-Have Skills :

    Databricks & Big Data :

  • Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks clusters / workflows, and Delta Lake (ACID transactions)
  • Hands-on coding in Python, Scala, or SQL

    • Cloud & DevOps Exposure :

  • Familiarity with GCP, Azure, or AWS data platforms
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI / CD, and version control systems
