Role Summary :

The Tax Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of indirect and direct tax compliance in India, including GST and TDS, as well as if required ensuring tax compliance under guidance of tax head for operations in the USA and UAE.

This role requires a detailed understanding of multi-jurisdictional tax laws and the ability to ensure timely and accurate filings, reconciliations, and audits across regions.

Key Responsibilities :

India - GST & TDS Compliance

  • Prepare, review, and file monthly and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR 6, GSTR-9, 9C, etc.)
  • Manage Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliations with GSTR-2B & books and regular follow-up from Business team for filing / corrections by vendor.
  • Also ensure necessary accounting correction to optimize GST credit and timely availment.
  • Ensure preparation and filing of GST refunds.
  • Ensure accurate TDS deductions and deposits under Income Tax Act, 1961.
  • Prepare and file TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.) and issue Form 16 / 16A.
  • Handle GST and Income audits, assessments, and notices.
  • Handle Tax audits, TP audits and Income tax return preparation.
  • Handle application of GST registration in new states and related amendments as and when required.
  • Handle accounting of monthly GST entries.
  • Handle completeness of E-invoicing on transactions and flag query to IT system.

UAE - VAT Compliance :

As and when needed it requires assistance in following role under guidance of tax head :

  • Ensure VAT registration, returns, and compliance as per Federal Tax Authority (FTA) guidelines.
  • Maintain VAT documentation, records, and transaction mappings.
  • Coordinate with local advisors for any updates or changes in UAE VAT laws.

    • USA - Federal & State Tax Compliance

    As and when needed it requires assistance in following role under guidance of tax head :

  • Support compliance with Federal Income Tax (IRS) and State-level tax filings (Sales & Use Tax, Franchise Tax, etc.)
  • Work with local CPA firms for filings like Form 1120, 5472, 1042, and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Assist in WHT compliance, Form W-8 / W-9 management, and 1099 reporting (if applicable).

    • Internal Controls & Reporting

  • Maintain robust documentation and audit trails for all tax positions.
  • Assist in monthly / quarterly tax provisioning and reconciliations.
  • Keep up-to-date with local and international tax law changes.
  • Support statutory audit, internal audit, and tax assessments.

    • Qualifications & Experience :

    Education : Chartered Accountant (CA) having experience.

    Experience : 5-10 years of hands-on experience in tax compliance roles covering India.

    Industry Preference :

    MNCs, startups with cross-border operations, or Big 4 / consulting experience in international taxation.

    Skills Required :

  • Deep understanding of Indian GST, TDS, Tax Audits, Income Tax Returns.
  • Working knowledge of UAE VAT law and USA federal / state taxation is Plus but not pre-requisite.
  • Proficient in Excel, Tally, or ERP systems.
  • Familiar with tax filing portals : GSTN, TRACES, Income Tax, FTA UAE, IRS efile, etc.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and across time zones.
