Purplechalk is a full-service marketing agency based in Chennai. We have worked with over 140 brands across industries such as fashion, lifestyle, retail, and e-commerce. Our strength lies in blending creativity, strategy, and technology to help businesses grow and stay relevant in an ever-changing digital landscape.

We are now looking for an SEO Trainee to join our team. This is an entry-level role designed for someone who understands the basics of SEO, is eager to specialise in e-commerce SEO, and is curious about how AI tools are reshaping the future of search and digital marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis
  • Optimise product pages, categories, blogs, and landing pages (on-page SEO)
  • Support link-building strategies and monitor backlink profiles (off-page SEO)
  • Assist with technical SEO audits (site speed, crawl, indexing, mobile readiness)
  • Track rankings, traffic, impressions, and conversions
  • Prepare clear SEO reports and insights for clients
  • Use AI + SEO tools (OpenAI, Perplexity, Frase, Screaming Frog, etc.)
  • Collaborate with content, design, and ecommerce teams (Shopify, WooCommerce)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Marketing, Business, English, Computer Science or related field)
  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals (on-page, off-page, technical)
  • Interest in e-commerce SEO (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento)
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Search Console, and keyword tools
  • Curious to learn about AI-powered SEO tools and trends
  • Strong written and research skills
  • Based in Chennai (preferred)
