Naval Architect – Structural Design & Engineer

About the Role :

We are looking for a talented Naval Architect (Structural Design) to join our team in Kochi. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in structural design and analysis for ships, offshore structures, and FPSO / FSO conversions . This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects such as new builds, conversions, and life-extension studies , collaborating with cross-functional teams and engaging with leading classification societies.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform structural design, analysis, and verification for ship hulls, topside, and associated marine structures.
• Conduct structural calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) using industry-standard tools.
• Review and interpret design specifications, class rules, and international standards (ABS, DNV, BV, IMO, etc.) .
• Support conversion projects by assessing vessel structures, defining strengthening requirements, and preparing modification drawings.
• Collaborate with process, piping, electrical, and marine system teams to ensure seamless structural integration.
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings, material specifications, and reports for submission.
• Liaise with shipyards, clients, and classification societies during design reviews, inspections, and approvals.
• Contribute to structural integrity management, fatigue analysis, and life extension studies .
• Provide technical support during construction and installation phases.

Key Skills & Competencies :

Strong foundation in structural design and analysis

Hands-on experience with FSO / FPSO conversion projects (advantageous)

Proficiency in structural analysis software (SESAM, PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, etc.)

Good knowledge of offshore classification society rules (ABS, DNV, BV) and IMO regulations

Strong communication and documentation skills
