Scope of Work :
The CAD / CAM Engineer will be responsible for the entire digital fabrication pipeline , covering :
- 2D Drawing Interpretation & 3D Conversion
- Import, clean, and prepare 2D architectural or sculptural drawings (DWG / DXF / PDF).
- Generate accurate 3D CAD geometry (solid / surface / mesh) suitable for stone machining.
- Convert conceptual sketches, hand drawings, or photographs into 3D models.
- Align all models to Vasthu-based coordinates, datum, and reference axes.
- 3D Sculpting & Detailing Preparation
- Collaborate with STL artists and sculptors to refine organic or figurative forms.
- Optimize mesh geometry, correct topology, and prepare STL / OBJ files for CAM readiness.
- Ensure seamless continuity between adjoining components (columns, beams, panels, etc.).
- CAM Programming & Toolpath Generation
- Develop multi-axis toolpaths (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis) for all machining stages :
- Roughing / Semi-finishing / Finishing / Polishing / Engraving.
- Simulate machining operations, avoiding collisions or gouges.
- Post-process verified G-code compatible with CNC controllers (Fanuc / Siemens / Syntec).
- Calibrate tool offsets, wire saw parameters, and spindle feeds to match granite density (Mohs 6–7).
- Machine Integration & Execution Support
- Coordinate with CNC operators for setup, fixturing, and block orientation.
- Validate output dimensions, surface accuracy, and artistic detailing.
- Adjust feed rates and coolant flows for tool life and finish optimization.
- Document tool libraries and machining parameters for repeat jobs.
- Quality, Documentation & Data Management
- Maintain CAD / CAM file archives with proper revision tracking and metadata.
- Generate setup sheets, toolpath documentation, and machining time estimates.
- Maintain compliance with MAMAT standards for accuracy (±1 mm) and repeatability (≤ 0.5 mm).
- Collaborate with QA and structural teams to validate as-built geometry.
