About the Role :
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Researcher to support research operations for a large-scale political campaign in Punjab. The role will involve conducting fieldwork, implementing surveys and interviews, analyzing voter sentiment, and providing insights that shape campaign strategies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on research experience, familiarity with Punjab’s socio-political context, and the ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Language & Cultural Requirement :
- Fluency in conversational Punjabi (essential for field interviews and focus groups)
- Familiarity with Punjabi cultural and political nuances, voter behavior, and regional issues
- Proficiency in Hindi and English for cross-team and stakeholder communication
Key Responsibilities
Field Research & Data Collection
Conduct surveys, interviews, and focus groups with voters across Punjab in conversational Punjabi.Assist in recruiting, training, and coordinating with local field investigators and enumerators.Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely collection of primary data.Research Implementation & Support
Administer research instruments such as questionnaires and interview guides.Support execution of both qualitative and quantitative studies designed by senior researchers.Monitor field activities to maintain data quality and integrity.Data Analysis & Insights
Organize and clean data collected from fieldwork.Conduct basic analysis using spreadsheet tools and research software (SPSS, Qualtrics, or similar).Identify key themes, trends, and insights to inform campaign strategy.Reporting & Documentation
Prepare clear summaries of findings, observations, and recommendations for internal teams.Assist in drafting reports and presentations for the strategy and communications teams.Intelligence Gathering
Track media, local conversations, and political updates to feed into ongoing research.Share timely field intelligence on voter sentiment, concerns, and emerging issues.Core Competencies
Research Skills : Hands-on experience with surveys, interviews, and focus groups.Analytical Ability : Strong skills in organizing data, identifying patterns, and deriving insights.Language & Communication : Excellent interpersonal skills; fluency in Punjabi essential.Political Awareness : Good understanding of Punjab’s social and political environment.Organizational Discipline : Ability to manage multiple field tasks and deliver under tight timelines.Integrity & Confidentiality : High regard for discretion in handling sensitive information.This is a 12-month contractual position based in Mohali / Chandigarh, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and project needs.
