Job descriptionOver 5 years of experience working in design and delivery of structural engineering projects for buildings. Experience with common structural design platforms such as SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE. Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Python, VBA (Excel), and CSI software APIs. Basic working knowledge with common AI models and machine learning. Willingness to learn additional programming languages and software development platforms. Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities to meet deadlines. Commitment to regularly enhancing technical and professional skills. Self-motivated with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, creative environment. Punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, and very organized. Prior knowledge of Grasshopper / Rhino. Prior experience with GUI development is an asset. Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platforms. Experience with Revit API or Dynamo. Web development skills including back-end and / or front-end.
Responsibilities
- Regularly owns and completes scope on complex projects across digital and structural engineering
- Perform parametric and generative designs on a project needs basis
- Guide and train team members from the structural team to build skills through completing the project work
- Work with structures digital leadership to develop key custom structural engineering tools as prioritized by business and project needs
- Focus on sprint development, balancing need for quick solutions
- Maintain, improve and further develop existing tools
- Contribute to strategic R&D initiatives such as development of AI based tools to support engineering design and quality control
