Role : SOC Program Manager
Location : Bangalore
Experience : 12+ years of total semiconductor experience, including at least 5+ years managing SoC development programs(spec-to-silicon)
Salary : Can be discussed
Key Responsibilities
As a SoC Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving the end-to-end execution of complex SoC development programs — from specification and architecture through design, implementation, manufacturing, validation, and production.
You will lead a cross-functional, multi-site engineering team (logic design, verification, physical design, DFT, package, test, validation, qualification) and coordinate with customers, foundries, EDA vendors, and IP providers to ensure successful and timely silicon delivery under a turnkey engagement model.
Define, own, and maintain the overall SoC program plan, including schedule, milestones, deliverables, resources, dependencies, and risk management.
Establish clear program governance, progress tracking, and review mechanisms with internal teams and customers.
Drive alignment between customer specifications and internal execution plans across all SoC development functions.
Lead and synchronize multiple engineering domains (Architecture, RTL, Verification, DFT, PD, STA, PV, ATE, Validation, and Qualification) to ensure smooth program execution.
Coordinate with package, test, and qualification partners to align technical and logistical deliverables.
Act as the primary customer contact for all program-related activities.
Gather and interpret customer requirements, manage design change requests, and translate them into actionable engineering tasks.
Provide regular status reports, risk assessments, and mitigation updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
Identify technical and schedule risks early; establish risk registers and mitigation plans.
Proactively track issues across design and manufacturing stages; drive closure through cross-team collaboration.
Coordinate with foundry (e.g., TSMC, Samsung, GF) for tapeout readiness, MPW slots, and production logistics.
Collaborate with EDA providers and IP vendors to resolve licensing, delivery, or integration issues.
Manage handoffs between design, verification, implementation, and test teams ensuring clean execution across phase boundaries.
Implement project tracking and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, Confluence) to manage progress and dependencies systematically.
Drive continuous improvement in project execution flow, identifying efficiency gains in design methodology, handoff processes, and communication.
Define and track Key Success Factors (KSFs) such as on-time delivery, first-pass silicon success, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction.
Review post-silicon lessons learned and feed them back into the organizational playbook for future SoC programs.
Qualifications
12+ years of total semiconductor experience, including at least 5+ years managing SoC development programs(spec-to-silicon).
Proven track record in turnkey or design services SoC programs, ideally involving foundry interface and silicon bring-up.
Strong understanding of the SoC design flow : architecture, RTL design, verification, synthesis, DFT, STA, P&R, signoff, tapeout, ATE, validation, and qualification.
Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, packaging, and test processes.
Experience coordinating with foundries, EDA vendors, and IP suppliers.
Expertise in project planning, tracking tools, and risk management frameworks.
Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer communication and stakeholder management experience in a global environment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Engineering or related field.
Preferred Attributes
PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Experience in managing multi-site, multi-timezone teams.
Exposure to advanced nodes (7nm / 5nm / 3nm) and AI, automotive, or networking SoC programs.
Demonstrated ability to manage external partnerships and deliver under aggressive customer schedules.
