Job Description : Sr.VP Vice President – Taxation

Experience Required : 20 years

Industry : Big 4

Education : Chartered Accountant (CA)

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-looking Vice President – Taxation to lead and manage the complete tax function for our organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in both Direct and Indirect Taxation , combined with a strong understanding of the Insurance / Services industry . The role demands a leader who can provide strategic direction, ensure compliance, and drive value through effective tax planning and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Direct & Indirect Tax Management

  • Oversee all aspects of Direct Tax (Corporate Tax, MAT, TDS, Transfer Pricing, International Taxation).
  • Lead Indirect Tax management including GST, Service Tax, Customs, and Excise where applicable.
  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance with tax filings, assessments, and audits.

Strategic Tax Planning & Advisory

  • Develop and implement tax-efficient structures, policies, and strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Advise leadership on the impact of changing tax laws and regulatory updates.
  • Evaluate cross-border taxation issues and advise on international tax implications.

    • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, statutory bodies, and external auditors.
  • Handle tax litigations, assessments, and represent the company before tax authorities.
  • Mitigate tax risks through proactive monitoring and strong internal controls.

    • Business Partnership

  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, Risk, and Business teams to support new initiatives and transactions.
  • Provide tax inputs on mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and new business models.
  • Partner with senior management to align tax strategies with organizational growth.

    • Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing taxation team.
  • Build capabilities in tax technology and automation for better compliance and reporting.

    • Key Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong academic and professional background.
  • 15+ years of experience in taxation with significant exposure to both Direct and Indirect Taxation .
  • Prior experience in a Big4 firm is highly preferred.
  • Strong track record of handling complex tax structures, compliance, and litigation.
  • Excellent understanding of Indian tax laws, Insurance sector regulations , and global tax frameworks.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
