Project Legal | Sterling Oil & Gas (Lagos, Nigeria)

Sterling Oil & Gas is looking for a senior legal leader to join us as Head - Project Legal Manager. This is a strategic leadership role overseeing the legal framework for mega projects in Oil & Gas (Upstream & Downstream), Petrochemicals, Fertilizers, Power Projects, Mining, and EPC.

Location : Lagos, Nigeria

Experience : 20-25 years

Reporting to : COO / CEO

What You'll Do

  • Lead contract negotiation, legal structuring, and compliance for global EPC and energy projects.
  • Manage EPC contracts, JV agreements, project financing, and international transactions.
  • Handle regulatory compliance, arbitration, and dispute resolution across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Partner with leadership to protect and enhance the company's legal and commercial position.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing legal team.

What We're Looking For

  • LLB / LLM with 20-25 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Fertilizers, Power, EPC, or Mining.
  • Expertise in FIDIC contracts, international arbitration, cross-border transactions, and project financing.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale project legal frameworks in emerging markets / Africa / Middle East.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder, and negotiation skills.
