Primary Responsibilities :

Coding the medical record using the ICD-10 and PCS with desired accuracy as per SLA
Know and adhere to HIPAA regulationsRecognize, interpret and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies and inaccuracies in the medical data received and appropriately alert and / or query the responsible party and supervisorMeet quality and productivity standards and deadlines / turnaround timesReports a discharge disposition for all records as required and in accordance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rules and regulationsFor inpatient encounters, applies coding conventions and official coding guidelines approved by the American Hospital Association (AHA), and any other official rules and guidelines established for use with the mandated outpatient procedure code setsMaintains the minimum data standards for accuracy and productivity as per defined KRAs / Client SLAsComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and / or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and / or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and / or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Education Background :Graduate or Postgraduate in : Life Sciences, Allied Medicine (BHMS, BAMS, BPT, Dental Grads, Pharmacist, Nursing)
Certification :Certified coder - AAPC or AHIMA - CCS or CPC or CPC-H or CCS-P
Experience :1+ years of experience in Acute Surgery or ED codingProficient in Human Anatomy, Medical Terminology and Diagnosis codingProven good in English communicationProven high analytical skillsProven willingness and eager to learn and growSkills Required
