About the Role

Years of Experience : 5–15 years (experience in healthcare facilities planning is mandatory)

Job Type : Full-time, On-site

Location : Fort, South Mumbai

Compensation Band on Offer : Upto 40 LPA (based on relevant experience, interview performance & last drawn CTC)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Medical Planner II to join our client’s Mumbai studio of a globally acclaimed architecture and design firm. The Medical Planner will play a key role in the planning, design, and documentation of healthcare facilities — ensuring medical functionality aligns with architectural design intent. The individual will serve as a technical expert for healthcare architecture, lead user group interactions, and guide medical planning throughout all project stages.

The ideal candidate is an architect with deep knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, FGI standards, and life safety codes, combined with a passion for creating healing environments that support patients, caregivers, and communities.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Report to the Principal in Charge / Project Manager and lead the healthcare team, guiding the medical planning process during project execution.
  • Coordinate with the design team to integrate medical planning with overall project design.
  • Assist in developing project scopes and translate planning concepts for internal teams and clients.
  • Conduct schematic and design development user group presentations and refine medical planning concepts based on feedback.
  • Lead healthcare programming, space planning, and medical equipment coordination.
  • Prepare architectural drawings, elevations, sections, and details for healthcare projects.
  • Coordinate Department of Health certificate of need submissions and ensure compliance.
  • Direct medical planning documentation from planning through SD, DD, and CD phases.
  • Facilitate client user group meetings and strategic planning sessions.
  • Anticipate technical challenges and develop practical design solutions.
  • Collaborate with medical equipment vendors to ensure seamless integration.
  • Stay current with healthcare design trends, codes, and standards.
  • Provide solid medical planning solutions aligned with the firm’s commitment to design quality, functionality, and schedule adherence.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing within the studio.
  • Represent the firm in industry associations and assist in marketing pursuits.
  • Support budgeting, milestone schedules, and coordination with the Project Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required; Architectural License and / or EDAC certification preferred.
  • 5–15 years of architectural experience in healthcare facilities planning.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, ADT, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare delivery systems — adjacencies, patient / staff flows, and functional zoning.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate medical planning with architectural design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey medical planning requirements clearly.
  • Team collaboration skills, with the ability to both input in Revit and guide junior staff.
  • Strong understanding of life safety codes and FGI design requirements.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Should be currently based in Mumbai or willing to relocate.
