🔹 Job Summary
Vidyashilp Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Behavioural Counsellor to provide expert behavioural counselling services for students. This role involves assessing, intervening, and supporting students facing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges , while strictly adhering to child protection laws, school SOPs, and ethical counselling standards.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
1. Counselling & Intervention
- Conduct individual and group counselling sessions for students across all grades.
- Assess and implement Behavioural Intervention Plans (BIPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and relevant staff.
- Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution support following SOP and child protection protocols.
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and staff to identify students at risk .
- Coordinate with families, mental health professionals, and NGOs for external referrals when needed.
- Lead case reviews for complex or high-risk cases , ensuring confidentiality and ethical standards .
2. Training & Awareness
Conduct workshops and awareness sessions for students, staff, and parents on mental health, emotional well-being, stress management, and child safety .Advise school staff on behavioural support strategies and best practices.Stay updated on child and adolescent psychology, trauma-informed care, and NEP 2020 guidelines .3. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain detailed, confidential records of counselling sessions, interventions, and student progress.Prepare reports for school leadership on behavioural trends and programme effectiveness.Follow all legal and ethical guidelines , including mandatory reporting under POCSO and the school’s SOPs.🔹 Qualifications
PhD or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or related field.Valid counselling certification or license.Minimum 5 years’ experience in school counselling or psychology.Hands-on experience with ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, and other behavioural or emotional challenges .Knowledge of child protection frameworks and legal compliance requirements .🔹 Key Competencies & Skills
