Our team is responsible for building high-load database infrastructure that powers Akamai business-critical applications. We focus on scalability, performance, reliability, and automation to ensure our database supports company's rapid growth. We work at the intersection of databases, distributed systems and DevOps practices.

You will work at the heart of critical database systems at Akamai. You will join a talented, cross-functional team of engineers. You will have influence over every stage of the lifecycledesign, architecture, development, testing, and deployment.

As a Senior Database Engineer II, you will be responsible for :

• Architecting & evolving MySQL topologies
• Performing research, test, and assist with deployment of database performance and reliability improvements
• Leading query tuning and index strategy
• Implementing observability and automation for our database environment
• Driving root-cause analysis for database incidents; document and implement corrective and preventative actions.
