Company Overview :
SAN Automotive Pvt. Ltd. is a trusted name in precision sheet metal component manufacturing, delivering high-accuracy parts and sub-assemblies to Tier-1 and OEM clients across automotive, electronics, and construction equipment sectors. Known for our in-house tooling capability, advanced metal forming processes, and stringent quality systems, we specialize in complex components such as ECM module housings, sunroof parts, and safety-critical assemblies.
As we continue to expand our manufacturing excellence, we are looking to hire a CMM Engineer who can lead the precision measurement and dimensional inspection processes for high-accuracy and critical parts.
Position Overview :
The CMM Engineer will be responsible for executing detailed dimensional inspection of complex sheet metal and machined components using CMM and other high-precision measurement systems. The ideal candidate should have deep understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings (2D & 3D), and should be capable of independently analyzing and validating the most critical profiles, tolerances, and features of safety-critical and customer-facing components.
Key Responsibilities :
- Program and operate CMM machines (preferably Zeiss, Mitutoyo, or Hexagon) to inspect sheet metal and fabricated parts.
- Interpret 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings to develop measurement strategies.
- Ensure accurate measurement of tight tolerance features and critical-to-function profiles including surface flatness, hole true position, angularity, and run-out.
- Conduct first article inspection (FAI), layout inspection, and in-process inspection for development and production parts.
- Validate parts for customer PPAPs, ECM module casings, and safety-critical assemblies using GD&T analysis.
- Generate CMM inspection reports and communicate deviations or NCs to Quality / Production / NPD teams.
- Maintain the calibration status of CMM and other precision instruments.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Tool Room, and NPD team for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support measurement system analysis (MSA), SPC studies, and gauge R&R validation when required.
Desired Candidate Profile :
4–7 years of hands-on experience in CMM programming and operation in an automotive or precision engineering environment.Strong understanding of GD&T, complex tolerances, and critical dimension analysis.Proficient in software such as PC-DMIS, CALYPSO, QUINDOS, or equivalent.Skilled in reading and interpreting 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.Experience in inspecting sheet metal, deep drawn, and fabricated parts with complex geometries.Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with design, tool room, and quality teams.Proactive and analytical mindset with attention to minute details.
