A Paint Shop Lead is one of the most integral leaders in our Production & Manufacturing function. The role requires ensuring consistent quality, optimising processes, and enabling operational efficiency. Core accountability involves managing end-to-end paint operations, leading a skilled workforce, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of Paint Shop to meet output, quality, and delivery targets
- Implement quality assurance processes and meet OEM / industry standards
- Drive defect reduction, process optimisation, and continuous improvement
- Ensure smooth equipment functioning through preventive maintenance
- Promote workplace safety and environmental compliance
- Lead, guide, and develop paint shop teams for sustained performance
- Control operational costs while improving efficiency
- Report KPIs including FPY, paint consumption, rejections, downtime, and manpower productivity
- Act as a key link between Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams
- Introduce innovative practices for productivity, energy saving, and sustainability
What You Bring
Technical Skills :
Education : B.E. / B. Tech / Diploma in Paint TechnologyExperience : 10–15 years in Paint Shop operations, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership roleIndustry Preference : Automotive, Heavy Engineering or similarExpertise in industrial paint processes (wet paint, industrial coatings, etc.)Strong process knowledge, including pretreatment, primer, topcoat, and testing methodsFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and TPM practicesHands-on experience in preventive and predictive maintenance of paint equipmentUnderstanding of ISO / TS, IATF, and customer-specific quality standardsSoft Skills
